A fund co-managed by retired tennis champion Andre Agassi provided the startup money for a Phoenix charter school to open a second location, officials said.
Eagle College Preparatory Schools' Harmony campus, 2435 E. Pecan Road, had its ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday.

A special guest visited a Phoenix elementary school Tuesday morning. He's best known for his career on the tennis court, but Andre Agassi has been spending a lot of time making a difference for kids.
The famous tennis player and number one world champion tennis player didn't go to kindergarten class to teach tennis.

EAGLE Elementary Plays Up Its Diversity
In August, Phoenix Magazine named EAGLE College Prep Elementary one of the best schools in Phoenix in 2010. And while this charter school is great at getting kids ready academically (math, science, English and stuff), it also teaches students how to be good, caring people.

The students of EAGLE College Prep, located in our South Mountain community, study the six pillars of character and practice these traits daily. This was evident in the recent efforts of the students to raise money and collect shoes for the survivors of the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
